The reality of the arabic language textbook
in the Morrocan secondary schools and the issue of promoting values
This study aims at clarifying the reasons why the values and principles set forth in the National Charter for Education and Training failed in achieving the target objectives, as well as to what extent the Moroccan schools have been unable to put them into practice. Meantime, it tends to shed the light on some aspects of such failure in the new reform in which these values and principles are highly recommended in both streams science and literature.
On this basis, in accordance with the target issue of this study, I used a descriptive perspective in analyzing the content of the textbook by extracting the target standards and then classifying them according to the guidelines of the ministry of education. As a consequence, the results of this study can be concluded in what follows.
• To begin with, these values and principles stated in the syllabus of Arabic mainly the high school textbook of the scientific streams are linked to a number of variables. Some of these variables are associated with the ultimate conception adopted by the ministry of education in identifying the meaning of these values and principles, There others that refer to the type of these values and principles which are used in shaping the syllabus content. Or the nature of the relationship that brings together the four basic constituencies of values that have been declared in the Charter.
• The are causal relationships between a number of variables that control the system of educational values that have been implemented within the components of the Arabic subject of the Literary Division and the problem of maintaining these values and principles in the learners’ learning experience at high school.
