The implementation of the health-enhancing school program from the point of view of science teachers in the schools applicable to the program in the Asir region
Abstract
The goal of current research is to investigate the reality of the application of Health-Promoting Schools Program from the stand point of science teachers in schools applied for the program in Asir. To achieve this objective questionnaire was made up of five axes of the program for health promoting schools design has been distributed to the research sample. The sample search of Forty (40) teachers were randomly selected from the six departments of education of Asir Region. The search resulted in the great effect of the application of enhanced School Health Program in the achievement of the main components of the program and the lifting of the exercise of these schools, health-promoting programs and providing the appropriate conditions to instill values of health and behavior in the hearts of the emerging results. And published in the school community and the community in general and the results were as follows:
1/ Health Education and services exercise significantly with an average per year (2.40%)
2/ The school environment and services exercise significantly with an average per year (2.43%)
3/ School health services greatly exercised an average per year (2.38%) .
4/ Nutrition services and food safety exercise significantly with an average per year (2.41%)
5/ Communication with the community and health awareness exercise moderately an average per year (2.40%)
In light of these findings the researcher presented a number of recommendations including dissemination of the program on a larger number of schools in the future to include all schools of the ministry. In addition to the importance of cooperation between the Ministries of Education and Health to invest in this program in the prevention of a lot of spread in the community health problems. As well as the focus on the content of the curriculum to promote health and concentrate on sexual problems and problems caused by modern technology and membership of diseases such as visual impairment and mental illness such as tension and spasms.
