Trends and behaviors of students of the University of Palestine Technical – Ramallah Branch from the point of view of the lecturers

ABSTRACT
The study aimed to know the trends and the behaviour of the female-students at the college in all the educational areas, and to determine the level of the overall practice of the college lecturers to the methods of behaviour modification and changing the trends of the female-students. The researcher has used the descriptive and analytical approach. A questionnaire was accomplished for this pur-pose. It was applied on a sample of (29) lecturers, who have been randomly selected in a stratified way. The study has revealed that the trends and the behaviour of the female-students at Palestine Technical College – Ramallah / for Girls from the teachers’ perspective are good. The girls possess positive trends towards the college. These results are due to the use of modern methods in modify-ing the students’ behaviour by the lecturers. The study has also demonstrated that there are no statistically significant differences due to the years of experience variable about the degree of the lecturers’ use of behaviour medication methods. Furthermore, the study has shown that there are no statistically significant differences to gender (male / female). There are also no statistically significant differences related to the variable of education qualification. The study has recommended the lecturers to increase the use of the methods of gentleness and kindness, to express sympathy with the female-students and to introduce material and moral incentives for outstanding students in both scientific and behavioural side from the college administration. The study has also recommended in-vesting in arts that aim to promote the positive behaviour among students.

الملخص 
[box type=”shadow” ]هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة اتجاهات وسلوكيات الطالبات في جامعة فلسطين التقنية خضوري- فرع رام الله في جميع مجالات العملية التعليمية، وتحديد مستوى ممارسة محاضري الجامعة لأساليب تعديل السلوك وتغيير الاتجاهات عند الطالبات. وقد استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، (استبانة طُبقت على عينة قوامها (29) من المحاضرين)، تم اختيارهم بطريقة عشوائية طبقية، وقد تم معالجة البيانات باستخدام برنامج(SPSS). كشفت الدراسة أن الاتجاهات والسلوكيات لدى طالبات الجامعة من وجهة نظر المحاضرين ايجابية وجيدة. حيث حصلت على متوسط عام(3,54) من(5)،وذلك نتيجة لاستخدام المحاضرين لأساليب حديثة في تعديل سلوك الطالبات، وعلى مستوى المجالات حصل المجال الأول (العلاقات) على متوسط(3,77)، يليه المجال الخامس(الأنشطة) وحصل على متوسط عام(3,64) ، المجال الثالث (البيئة) حصل على متوسط عام( 3,39). المجال الثاني (التعليم) حصل على متوسط عام )3,28(. والمجال الرابع(الحضور) حصل على متوسط عام )3,13(. كما بينت نتائج الدراسة عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لمتغير سنوات الخبرة، حول درجة استخدام المحاضرين لأساليب تعديل السلوك، كذلك بينت عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية لمتغير الجنس (ذكور، إناث)، وأيضاً لا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لمتغير المؤهل العلمي. وأوصت الدراسة المحاضرين بمزيد من التزام أساليب الرفق واللين وإبداء التعاطف مع الطالبات، وتقديم حوافز مادية ومعنوية للطالبات المتميزات من الناحيتين العلمية والسلوكية من إدارة الجامعة، كما أوصت الدراسة باستثمار الفن الهادف لتعزيز السلوك الإيجابي لدى الطالبات.
