Evaluation of the science book for the sixth grade in Jordan from the point of view Science teachers and teachers
ABSTRACT
The major purpose of this study was to assess the assessment of science teachers in the sixth grade of the basic orthodontics in view of the variables: (technical standards, standards of learning outcomes, standards of book content, standards of educational activities, presentation method and organization, and evaluation criteria). The researcher used the descriptive method; he prepared a questionnaire that measures the degree of achievement of the indicators of the six main axes and consisted of (53) indicators, and verified its validity and stability. Using the SPSS program, the results of the study showed the following: The indicators of the axes achieved a general average of (4.07) high. At the level of the axes, the field of technical standards of the book reached the highest average (4.19) with a high grade. With an average of 4.12, then the field of assessment by 4.11, then the field of activities by 4.02, then the field of learning outcomes by 4.00, finally the field of educational content and there were no significant differences in the teachers’ assessments due to gender, academic qualification or teaching experience. The researcher recommended the need to involve teachers and supervisors in the preparation of the textbook, and design, and other relevant studies such as measuring the vision of books developed science.
